Safety Technician

Course – Basic professional training of safety technicians (OHS) is carried out pursuant toSection 23 of Act No. 124/2006 on OHS, as amended. Scope under the Decree of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic No. 356/2007 Coll.: minimum 176 hours

Our aim is to teach the course participants to master a broad scope of applicable legislation relating
to the issues in questions and to apply the obtained theoretical knowledge in practice. During the course,
they will try it out in the form of practical exercises (model situations, samples, model documents). 

The participants will also learn:

• to verify and monitor compliance with safety regulations, the use of protective equipment, tools and aids at the workplaces,
• to elaborate internal OHS regulations in accordance with applicable legislation, monitor the compliance with OHS legal regulations and update the OHS documentation,
• to coordinate and carry out input and periodical OHS training,
• to perform consulting activity in the OHS for the employer,
• to assess risks at the workplace and create safe work procedures,
• to investigate work-related accidents,
• to coordinate professional inspections and tests of technical devices.

The conditions for enrolment to the basic course of safety technician (OHS):

• finished complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education.

At the examination, a natural person must prove professional knowledge, competence and ability to apply legal regulations and other regulations to ensure occupational health and safety and the ability to carry out requirements for ensuring occupational health and safety in practice. If a natural person did not succeed in the examination, he/she may repeatedly take it no earlier than after one month of the day of unsuccessful examination.
      

After verifying professional knowledge, the candidate receives a safety technician certificate
with unlimited validity, with the obligation to take part in refresher professional training of safety technicians every 5 years.
