JKBOZ s.r.o. is accredited by the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic to carry out first aid courses in accordance with Section 41 (1) (d) of Act on health care providers and in accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic.
Why should I take part in the first aid course?
- you will obtain theoretic knowledge and practical skills in providing first aid in case of sudden unexpected situations in which health or life of any person may be endangered;
- you will be able to justify the importance of providing first aid in the system of urgent health care in the event of sudden events endangering life and health;
- you will master practically usable knowledge and skills in dealing with sudden and serious events endangering life and health of an injury- or non-injury nature;
- you will obtain positive approach to provide first aid and to prevention of sudden danger to life and health.
What will I learn on the first aid course?
Theoretic knowledge
On the first aid course, you will obtain information about:
- the causes of occurrence, consequences and solutions of the most frequent sudden events of injury- and non-injury origin that endanger life and health of a newborn, a child and an adult,
- preventive measures leading to improving health protection,
- tasks and role of first aid in the urgent health care,
- general principles of first aid provision,
- evaluation of the condition of the affected person, rescuing, relocating, activation of rescue system,
- primary life-saving actions,
- disturbance of consciousness, e.g. in case of unconsciousness,
- breathing disorders, e.g. in case of choking,
- seizure states – febrile seizures, epilepsy,
- bleeding from wounds, shock,
- fractures, joint wounds, burns,
- non-injury sudden incidents that may cause any accident – heart failure, sudden stroke,
- providing first aid in expected spinal injury.
Practical skills
- evaluating the situation with the focus on minimisation of risk of further endangering oneself, the affected person and other persons, indication of the place of accident,
- activating medical rescue service and other parts of the integrated rescue system,
- detecting the symptoms of disease or injury,
- practical training – basic urgent support of life functions – release of respiratory tract, rescue breathing, pressing of chest (heart massage), haemostasis, stabilised position, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including the use of automatic external defibrillation,
- providing first aid in
a) disturbances of consciousness,
b) breathing disorders, choking, seizure states,
c) fractures and joint wounds,
d) bleeding from wounds, shock,
e) spinal injuries, handling with the patient,
f) non-injury sudden incidents that may cause an accident – heart failure, sudden stroke,
- provision of psychological support to the affected person,
- handover of the affected person to the employees of medical rescue service.
